Warrington coach Tony Smith praised his side's character after they stretched their unbeaten run to five matches with a dramatic last-gasp 22-20 victory over Wakefield in the Super League.
Kurt Gidley's Wolves trailed 20-6 early in the second half but staged a rousing comeback as tries by Chris Hill and Kevin Brown set up a frantic finish that saw Tom Lineham's spectacular dive in the corner win it in the closing minutes.
"The character isn't in question at all," Smith said.
"Some of our processes and methods we went about that game are questionable but the players are trying hard in all departments - and sometimes a little bit too hard.
"There were errors playing the ball and we were dropping the ball which are just little lapses in concentration and we need to be better because it's hurting us.
"The desire is actually to play the ball quickly so they are trying to do the best for the team but it's frustrating for players and coaches and for spectators as a spectacle."
Wakefield coach Chris Chester admitted the defeat was tough to take.
"It was one of those games that just got away from us," he said.
"It's a tough one to take because I thought we were the best team for large parts of the game and we have just come up short again.
"I'm proud of the boys' efforts because we have come long way in a such a short space of time.
"To come to Warrington and be really disappointed with a loss just shows how far we have come.
"But it's been tough just talking to the boys after the game because they are gutted."
