Warrington overcome bad start to beat Hull

Injuries have crulled Hull's chances of a win over Warrington in the English Super League.

Warrington has come from 12-0 down at half-time to sweep aside an injury-decimated Hull 30-12 in the English Super League.

The Wolves looked to be suffering a hangover from their 38-10 defeat by Wigan at the Magic Weekend when they produced a poor first-half performance against a Hull side denied the services of 10 senior players due to injury and suspension.

But they responded to coach Steve Price's halftime pep talk and ran amok against their under-strength visitors, whose first-half heroics gradually took a heavy toll.

The win keeps third-placed Warrington in touch with pacesetters St Helens and Wigan - who suffered a shock 24-8 loss to lowly Hull KR.

It also opens up a four-point gap between Warrington and Hull on the ladder.

The match was marred by an allegation of biting made by Warrington captain Chris Hill against Hull's French winger Hakim Miloudi, which referee Gareth Hewer put on report.

In other Super League games on Friday, three first half tries from Wakefield laid the platform for a 19-6 win over Widnes, who slumped to their eighth defeat in a row.

And former Canberra captain Simon Woolford made his debut as a head coach when he led Huddersfield for the first time in their 24-16 win over Salford.
