The Warriors could be without star fullback Sam Tomkins for Saturday's NRL clash against fellow top-eight rivals Brisbane.
The 25-year-old England international went down clutching his hip at training on Wednesday, was carted away to the team's medical facilities and didn't return.
Warriors coach Andrew McFadden said the initial prognosis was positive but a call on his fitness would be made before the team left for Brisbane on Thursday.
"He just felt his hip flexor tighten up a bit," McFadden said.
"We'll have a look then see how he pulls up tomorrow. I've spoken to our medical department and they think he will be OK, but we'll see."
After the early release of Kiwis fullback Kevin Locke to Salford in the UK Super League, the Warriors are low on experienced outside backs should Tomkins need to be replaced.
Ngani Laumape trained at fullback but still has one week to serve on his suspension for a dangerous tackle against the Broncos in round 15.
Other options include David Fusitu'a, Carlos Tuimavae, Tuimoala Lolohea and Solomone Kata.
"It hit us a bit unexpectedly today," McFadden said.
"But we'll definitely sort that out if Tomkins does need to be replaced."
McFadden has warned his side against becoming complacent as they look to build on last week's 48-0 thrashing of Parramatta at Mt Smart Stadium.
The Warriors, who have won seven of their last nine matches, are in sixth place and could climb to as high as fourth if they win against the Broncos and other results fall their way this weekend.
Conversely, the Broncos are on a three-game losing streak and face a five-day turn-around after Monday's 35-34 defeat to high-flying Penrith.
"It will be a different game this weekend," McFadden said.
"We're playing at Suncorp in front of 40,000 against a full strength Broncos team. We need to stand up this week."
