Warriors court NSW coach Daley

The Warriors are attempting to lure NSW coach Laurie Daley to the NRL club as a director of football or board member.

The hapless Warriors have hatched a plan to lure NSW Origin coach Laurie Daley to mentor coach Andrew McFadden in an effort to turn around their highly-criticised culture.

Warriors owner Eric Watson said the club had held talks with Daley about coming on board either as a director of football to oversee McFadden or as a board member.

McFadden is under pressure after their 0-3 start to the season and the club was recently criticised by former Kiwis Test coach Graham Lowe for their "bro culture" which he said cultivated their soft edge.

The Warriors have lost their last 11 - equal to their worst ever losing streak - with their last win coming in July last year.

Even the introduction of star recruits Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Issac Luke have made little difference over the opening three weeks.

Daley, who is highly thought of after helping to break Queensland's eight-year State of Origin winning run in 2014, is contracted to the Blues until the end of the 2017 season.

But the Warriors are hoping to bring him to the club as they seek to arrest their woes.

"If we had more NRL experience at an Australian level ... we could bring a Laurie Daley on board," Watson told New Zealand radio station Newstalk ZB.

"A guy like Laurie Daley will be looking for new challenges.

"Maybe Laurie is the guy. In due course we will make an appointment whether it be football mentor or board member, that person would probably be the next move no matter how we are performing on the field.

"I think the coach would welcome that."
