Draymond Green starred as Andrew Bogut's Golden State Warriors stretched their NBA winning streak to a club-record 12 games with a 112-102 victory over the Chicago Bulls.
Green contributed a career-high 31 points, including seven three-pointers, and also provided seven rebounds, four steals and three blocks as the Warriors improved their league-leading record to 17-2 for the season.
Under the guidance of first-year coach Steve Kerr, Golden State have now bettered their previous franchise-record winning streak of 11 games, set from December 1971-January 1972.
Kerr received a warm welcome in Chicago - where he won three of his five NBA championships as a player with the Bulls - but Green stole the show.
Green's efforts helped make up for the continuing struggles of Warriors star Stephen Curry, who notched seven assists but connected on just five of 14 shots from the field in an 18-point effort.
Klay Thompson added 24 points, including a three-pointer that ignited a 14-3 fourth-quarter scoring run for Golden State, whose last defeat came against San Antonio on November 11.
Bogut again led the way in defence, the Australian centre collecting 12 rebounds in his 27 minutes on court in a seesawing match featuring 15 lead changes.
The match started controversially when Bulls star Derrick Rose warmed up in a T-shirt bearing the words "I Can't Breathe" in a nod to protests denouncing the killing of unarmed Eric Garner by New York police.
"I can't breathe" were the final words gasped repeatedly by Garner, a 43-year-old father of six who died in July after a police chokehold that was caught on amateur video footage.
