Warriors' Fisiiahi to miss rest of 2013

Warriors winger Glen Fisiiahi will miss the rest of the NRL season after suffering an injury.

The Warriors have lost Glen Fisiiahi for the remainder of the NRL season with the winger to undergo surgery on a torn pectoral muscle.

Fisiiahi suffered the injury in the Warriors' comeback win over Wests Tigers on Friday night, scans revealing a complete rupture of the muscle.

"The usual recovery period is in excess of three months following surgery," Warriors doctor John Mayhew said in a statement.

Fisiiahi has scored five tries in 11 appearances for the Warriors in 2013, swapping between wing and fullback where he deputised for Kevin Locke.

"It's terrible luck for Fish and a real setback for us," Warriors coach Matthew Elliott said.

"He had been doing a terrific job for us. Naturally he's devastated and we all feel for him. What we'll do as a group is give him all the support we can to ensure he recovers well for next season."

Rookie Ngani Laumape is expected to take Fisiiahi's spot on the wing for Sunday's home game against Melbourne.
