Defending champions Western Australia have named 22-year-old Ashton Turner as vice-captain, as they cast one eye on the future and the other on the defence of their Matador Cup title in October.

Test player Adam Voges is the only player from last year's successful 50-over campaign unavailable for selection, while Craig Simmons has since been dropped from the Warriors' state squad.

The Warriors begin their campaign against South Australia on Monday, October 5 at Hurstville Oval.

WA Warriors: Michael Klinger (c), Ashton Turner (vc), Ashton Agar, Tom Beaton, Jason Behrendorff, Will Bosisto, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Marcus Harris, Simon Mackin, Joel Paris, Nathan Rimmington, Andrew Tye, Jonathon Wells, Sam Whiteman.
