Water bombing aircraft and more than 20 fire crews are battling a large fire that's been burning in a Logan suburb since Friday afternoon.

Water bombing aircraft and 26 fire crews are battling a large bushfire burning south of Brisbane.

The fire, in the Logan suburb of Carbrook, broke out on Friday afternoon and has created significant smoke haze.

Firefighters say the blaze currently poses no threat to homes, although volunteers have been door-knocking homes in the area.
