Even Mark Winterbottom's team agrees, it's Frosty against the world when it comes to winning the V8 Supercars championship.
Mark Skaife raised eyebrows this week, describing Winterbottom as the "lone ranger" in his bid for a first title in a decade in the sport.
Winterbottom has a 239-point lead heading to the penultimate race meet of the season this weekend on Phillip Island.
But with Prodrive team-mate Chaz Mostert out with a broken leg sustained at the Bathurst 1000 and fellow Ford man David Reynolds his closest rival for the title, Winterbottom is light on for support.
You might expect Cam Waters, deputising for Mostert in the No.6 Falcon, to be offended by Skaife's comments.
Instead, the 21-year-old concurs, telling AAP he was "probably right".
To Waters, the V8 Supercars field is flooded with Commodores with little to fight for this season, out to spoil Winterbottom's parade.
"The other Holden guys, they're not even in the championship," he said.
"They've said they are going to make it as hard as possible, so I guess I'll just have to make it as hard as possible for them."
The first step might be ending the friendly fire that nearly derailed Winterbottom in the Auckland 500.
Winterbottom was left at the back of the field in Sunday's main race, at the end of a chain reaction of bumps.
Team principal Tim Edwards blamed "Holden morons" for the incident but Waters later confessed he started the chain.
"I probably caused it but it wasn't really my fault. It all concertinaed up pretty hard," he said.
Irrespective, Waters earned rave reviews for his drive at Pukekohe and is an unbackable favourite to earn a full-time drive with the team next season in car No.55, vacated by Mercedes-bound Reynolds.
He said he was "100 per cent trying to get that seat" and hoped to be locked in before the series reaches its conclusion in Sydney.
There, he'll revert to the support Dunlop Series category as he looks to convert his championship lead into a title of his own.
Until then, it's all about helping Winterbottom to his maiden Supercars crown.
"I should be half okay to mix it with those guys ... if I'm quick enough and I'm up with Mark I'll help as much as i can," he said.
