Shane Watson's Chennai Super Kings have pulled off a remarkable run chase to maintain their perfect start to the Indian Premier League campaign.

Hosting Kolkata Knight Riders after beating Mumbai in their opening clash on Saturday, Chennai captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field.

Sunil Narine (12) was the first to fall for Kolkata and was followed by Australian opening partner Chris Lynn, who was bowled by Ravindra Jadeja for 22.

The Knight Riders then suffered a mini-collapse, losing 3-9 before West Indian allrounder Andre Russell came to the crease, smashing an unbeaten 88 from just 36 balls to lead his side to 6-202.

Watson took 2-39 from his four overs while Harbhajan Singh, Jadeja and Shardul Thakur took one wicket each.

In reply Watson (42) and Ambati Rayudu put on 75 in less than six overs for the first wicket. England's Sam Billings made 56 but it all came down to the final over with Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo at the crease.

Bravo hit Vinay Kumar's no-ball over fine leg for six before Jadeja followed up four balls later, thumping his shot over the long-on ropes to complete the remarkable victory.
