Stan Wawrinka warmed up for his French Open title defence by winning the Geneva Open on Saturday, beating Marin Cilic 6-4 7-6 (11) in the final.
The top-seeded Swiss took his second match-point chance in a tiebreaker when the third-seeded Croatian sent a backhand long.
Wawrinka trailed 3-0 in the tiebreaker, after losing his first two points on serve, and saved four set points for Cilic.
The 31-year-old Wawrinka won his 14th career singles title and his first in Switzerland after more than a decade of competing at Gstaad, Basel and now Geneva.
"It's a dream come true to be able to win a title in Switzerland, after all these tournaments," Wawrinka said.

"To be able to do it here in Geneva, in the event's second year is something special. The fans were great. They made a lot of noise today.
"Marin is a great player.
"He really ramped up the pressure toward the end, with those set points, so it was nice to be able to finish off the match."
Wawrinka, ranked No.4, got his first title on clay since winning at Roland Garros last year.
He opens his French Open campaign against the man he beat in Geneva on Friday, Lukas Rosol.
