Weather frustrates Windies-Sri Lanka Test

Poor weather has intervened on day two of the second Test between the West Indies and Sri Lanka in Saint Lucia.

The West Indies have been frustrated by the weather as they attempted to press home their advantage on day two of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Saint Lucia.

The hosts, 1-0 up in the series after a resounding victory in Port of Spain, bowled Sri Lanka out for 253 on the opening day.

Resuming on 0-2, they reached 2-118 stumps - still 135 behind - with rain and then bad light limiting the day's action to 42.3 overs.

Openers Kraigg Brathwaite and Devon Smith shared a stand of 59 before the former was caught behind off Kasun Rajitha for 22.

Smith completed his half-century but - after another 50 stand - lost partner Kieran Powell for 27, caught by Kusal Mendis off Lahiru Kumara.

Smith was still holding firm on 53 not out at stumps, with Shai Hope unbeaten on two as the pair look to close in on the tourists' first-innings total.
