Webb joint leader at US Women's Open golf

Australian Hall of Famer Karrie Webb is in a three-way tie for the lead after the rain-delayed first round of the US Women's Open golf in Pennsylvania.

Jane Park made a birdie and four pars as play resumed on Friday at the US Women's Open, moving the American golfer into a three-way tie for the lead after the rain-delayed first round.

The 2004 US amateur champion is tied with Australian Hall of Famer Karrie Webb and Marina Alex at four-under-par 66.

Na Yeon Choi, the 2012 US Open winner, and Amy Yang are one stroke back.

Top-ranked Inbee Park returned to complete her opening round on Friday to get to within a shot of the lead before a bogey at No.17 left her two strokes back, in a pack of eight players at two-under 68.

A total of 55 golfers were forced to complete their first rounds starting at 6:45am on Friday, after play was suspended on Thursday evening by a strong storm that pounded Lancaster Country Club with high winds and heavy rain.

The second round started half-an-hour later.
