Australia's greatest-ever female golfer Karrie Webb says if she wins a medal at the Rio Olympics it will sit proudly alongside any of her seven major titles.

The 41-year-old and rising star Minjee Lee are almost certain to be Australia's two female representatives when golf makes its Olympic return in Rio in August after a 112-year absence.

Webb says the prospect of being able to call herself an Olympian has driven her to keep playing a full schedule of events this year.
