The games are the final matches before September's World Cup qualifiers and will be Ange Postecoglou's last chance to give untested players the chance to prove their worth.
That match along with the French Open tennis and the NRL, AFL and Super Rugby headlines a busy weekend of sport ahead.
Fresh from playing England last weekend, the Socceroos are now turning their attention to tomorrow night's friendly with Greece in Sydney.
It's a chance for coach Ange Postecoglou to experiment with his line-up as he looks to broaden the talent pool he can draw on for September's final round of World Cup qualifiers.
For Apostolos Giannou, the match against Greece will have special significance.
The striker was born there and didn't arrive in Melbourne with his family until almost he was almost 10 years old.
And although the 26 year old Giannou has now chosen to represent his adopted country, he admitted his early days in Australia weren't easy.
"I couldn't speak any English. I didn't know anything. But I think it was difficult at the start, because i didn't want to go to school by myself because I was scared and all that. But eventually, you know the younger you come to Australia, my brother came a little bit older he came like 13 or 14 and it was more difficult for him to get used to the different environment and to speak English and to have friends and everything."
Now he's overcome the language barrier he and the other players in Postecoglou's squad will look to cement their place in world cup calculations.
Veteran midfielder Mark Milligan played against England out of position in central defence last weekend.
And he says the modern footballer has to be able to be flexible in order to remain part of the set-up.
"You need to be able to do a variety of different things and play a variety of different roles and as I say, the majority of the team can do that."
At the French Open tennis tonight Australia's Samantha Stosur is hoping to take another big step towards a second career Grand Slam title when she plays her semi-final against Garbine Mugaruza.
It's the fourth time Stosur has reached the last four at Roland Garros, where she reached the final in 2010.
Stosur has met Mugaruza once before on clay two years ago and won that match at the Madrid Masters.
But Stosur told Fox Sports, times have changed since that previous meeting.
"She's probably a better player now than what she was back then and she was kind of just on the rise then and she been able to cement herself in the top ten since then, so it's something I will definitely look back on but know that she definitely has improved since then and I'm going to have to play well to get through it.
In the NRL, the top of the table Sharks face a tricky assignment at the Bulldogs in the final match of round 13 on Monday evening.
Before then, second-placed Melbourne Storm can assume the leadership if it can beat the Panthers.
The entire round though will take place under a cloud of suspicion.
On Thursday the code was thrown into turmoil when NSW police confirmed they were probing allegations of match-fixing.
Two games are reportedly under investigation involving Manly.
The defeats against South Sydney and Parramatta last year have come under scrutiny.
While no players have been implicated, NRL Chief Executive Todd Greenberg has promised life bans for anyone found guilty.
AFL meanwhile is dealing with ongoing allegations of "tanking".
It's the process by which struggling clubs find themselves in the position where if they continue to lose, they secure the best draft picks at season's end.
This week the Fremantle Dockers, who've yet to win a game this season, had the finger of suspicion pointed in their direction.
However, Melbourne Demons coach Paul Roos is supporting the introduction of a draft lottery system to replace the current set up.
Roos told Fox Sports, it's the easiest way to end all doubts over the issue,
"That's clearly the best formula for mine. I've been a massive supporter of that probably for the last 10 years ever since the sort of tanking or whatever people want to talk about I mean its already started again this week and things like that. I think it's a clear solution."
The ladder leading North Melbourne Kangaroos get round 11 underway tonight when they take on the Richmond Tigers.
In Rugby this weekend, the Brumbies take on the Reds while the NSW Waratahs face their first ever Super Rugby fixture in Japan when they take on the Sunwolves on Saturday afternoon.
And finally in Netball, the ladder leading Sydney Swifts have a week off while the second placed Queensland Firebirds welcome third placed Melbourne Vixens on Saturday afternoon.
