Sydney FC's run to the Premier's Plate looks almost certain to end in success going into round 18 of the A-League.
Holding a seemingly unassailable 11 point lead over their nearest rivals, the Sky Blues head to Brisbane tonight hopeful of maintaining their unbeaten run.
It won't be easy for Graham Arnold's side, which beat Melbourne Victory last weekend in a display that left him unimpressed despite the 2-1 win.
"I wasn't that enthusiastic about our performance against Melbourne I thought that what we needed to do we got done to win the game but this week is a different challenge up in Brisbane and we're looking forward to it."
SBS has coverage of that match from 7.30pm.
Tomorrow night in the Premier League all eyes will be on Stamford Bridge when leaders Chelsea take on third placed Arsenal.
It's a match that will have a big part to say in the destination of the title and SBS will have live coverage from 11pm.
The inaugural woman's AFL competition begins tonight at Olympic Park in Melbourne where Collingwood takes on traditional rivals Carlton.
It's the realisation of a dream for many women involved in the sport.
Susan Alberti has been confirmed as the women's AFL ambassador and has been a driving force behind the league's creation.
The Western Bulldogs vice president says she never doubted the league would start one day.
"I'm a woman that never gives up if I believe in something and I knew it had to happen, and its been something that's been driving me for 50 years. So, to see today and see the history and being part of history because we are all part of history."
AFL Chief executive Gillon McLachlan says the women's league will take at least three years to evolve and doesn't want to rush expansion through too quickly.
The hot ticket in Adelaide this weekend apart from the Crows versus the Greater Western Sydney Giants women's match will be Saturday night's boxing showdown between longtime rivals Anthony Mundine and Danny Green.
The pair famously fought over ten years ago when Mundine took the honours in a unanimous points decision.
A crowd of around 30,000 is predicted for the showdown, which is likely to be the final bout for the 43-year-old Green and 41-year-old Mundine.
We hear now from both fighters, firstly Mundine, then Green.
Mundine: "He believes he's the better fighter. I believe I'm the better fighter. It's going to take more than a lick just to beat me. And we're going to find that out.
Green: "Choc and I have never seen eye to eye. And all I care about is getting out there and me and him having a smash and that's it. That's what we've trained to do. We're going to go out there and we're going to have a smash and this will be our last fight. Choc's isn't fighting after this, I'm not fighting after this, this is it."
To the United States where Superbowl 51 takes place in Houston, Texas, on Monday and the New England Patriots pairing of coach Bill Belichick and Quarterback Tom Brady will be teaming up for a record seventh time when they take on the Atlanta Falcons.
By the time the fourth quater has ended, the pair will have appeared in three more Superbowls than any other coach-quarterback combination.
Should the Patriots win the game, Belichick's fifth trophy will move him past Pittsburgh Steelers coach Chuck Noll while Brady's fifth success will see him move past Quarterbacks Dan Marino and Terry Bradshaw.
The moment won't be lost on Brady.
"Playing football is so important in my life. I love to do it. I know coach loves to coach and I love to play and I love playing for him and I want to go out and win this game for all my coaches, all my team-mates and all of my fans and I've worked hard to get to this point and we just have to go out and finish the job."
Finally back home, in the National Basketball League SBS has live coverage of the Cairns Taipans and the Perth Wildcats match.
