After a turbulent week in which captain Robbie Farah was punted from the club, the Wests Tigers must turn their attention to avoiding the club's first-ever wooden spoon.
The Tigers playing group is putting on a brave face publicly, insistent management's decision to ask Farah to leave has not affected them.
Prop Aaron Woods said Farah's contractual talks were none of his business while their skipper remained upbeat, making it a non-issue.
"No one really wants to know (Farah's) business, we want to stay away from it," Woods said.
"We've got the spoon to battle for the last two weeks and we want to get off the bottom of the table and if it is Rob's last year we don't want to send him out with a wooden spoon."
Farah has been told he can play elsewhere because his heavily back-ended contract, reported to be worth $950,000 per season for the final two years, was set to consume a lion's share of their salary cap and stymie their recruitment.
Coach Jason Taylor is insistent they must start with a clean slate after an underwhelming 2015 which sees them 16th, two points behind Gold Coast, with two games remaining.
Wins against the Warriors and St George Illawarra could lift them out of last spot.
The Warriors have fallen dramatically, from fourth after 18 rounds, to 10th following six consecutive losses.
"No one wants to get the wooden spoon," Woods said.
"We've had 10 games this year where we've been close and we could've, should've won.
"And that's the most disappointing thing about our season so far, if we won half of them we wouldn't be sitting in the spot we're sitting in at the moment."
