Wests Tigers' Thompson faces one game ban

Bodene Thompson could miss the Wests Tigers clash with Manly on Friday after being hit with a grade-one dangerous contact charge by the NRL.

Wests Tigers backrower Bodene Thompson is facing a one-match NRL ban for his hit on Jamie Soward in Sunday's loss to Penrith.

Thompson on Monday copped a grade-one dangerous contact charge over the 26th minute incident at Leichhardt Oval.

He will miss Friday night's clash with Manly with an early guilty plea and risks being suspended for two games if he unsuccessfully challenges the charge at the judiciary.

The club has until midday on Tuesday to enter a plea.
