What Ashley Madison users want

The data from extramarital dating website Ashely Madison paints a pretty picture of what husbands and wives really want.

"Anyone seen my glass slipper?" asks cinderbelly.

That's just one of the pick-up lines gleaned from leaked Ashley Madison data, seen by AAP.

With more than 25,000 registered Ashley Madison users in Sydney and over 21,000 in Melbourne, it's clear that Australia loves the concept of an easy affair.

But what kind of things are Aussie cheaters looking for?

User Good To Be Back is keen to hook up anywhere "although I wouldn't want it to be too uncomfortable (no to the sandpit and no to the gravel driveway!)."

Instead, why not head down to the supermarket where you could bump into Buddy-Love, whose profile caption is "meet me in the fruit & veg dept."

One Melbourne user doesn't like "cheap restraunts (sic)" and is looking for someone who knows "how to dance (like at clubs)."

Other users have adopted the nickname of their spirit animals: Big Ozzie Dingo, WelshWombat and tassie_devil.

Ashley Madison is known for its slogan "Life is short. Have an affair."

It helps connect people seeking to have extramarital relationships and is owned by Toronto-based Avid Life Media.

The leaked data was first dumped on Wednesday after hacking group The Impact Team threatened in July to release information on users of Ashley Madison unless its publisher took the site down.

The overwhelming majority - or 86 per cent - of the total accounts are linked to men.

The hacked data, released on the dark web and seen by AAP, includes credit card details, email accounts and home addresses.
