NSW motorists could face heavy fines and up to a year in jail if they refuse to remove their burqa, niqab or helmet when asked by police.Under changes to the Law Enforcement Act, the NSW cabinet has agreed to 'give police stronger powers to require facemasks of any form to be removed when police have to establish the identity of any person', Premier Barry O'Farrell said.The changes come after the case of a woman who refused to remove her Islamic veil when pulled over by police. The new legislation will be introduced in state parliament in August.What do you think of the proposal?

Anyone who refuses to remove a face covering could be fined and jailed for up to a year.

The law enforcement changes come after the case of a woman who refused to remove her Islamic veil when pulled over by police. The new legislation will be introduced in state parliament in August.
