What next ... a plague of locusts?

Driving rain will likely bring flooding to the Queensland town of Eidsvold, just six days after it was hit by an earthquake.

Flood warning in North Burnett

Earthquakes, cyclones and now major floods - conditions in the Queensland town of Eidsvold have been almost biblical this week.

The Bureau of Meteorology says driving rain from Cyclone Marcia has caused the Upper Burnett River to rise above 10 metres on Saturday.

Forecaster Jess Carey says the bureau is expecting major flooding around the town of Eidsvold on Saturday afternoon.

The deluge comes just six days after the town was shaken by a 5.2 magnitude earthquake.

"They've had an earthquake and now a major flood, so you know, it's pretty hard to take for the residents of that town," Mr Carey told ABC Radio.

He said the situation was still developing because forecasters were still waiting for confirmation on water level peaks further upstream before issuing more accurate warnings.

Downriver, the towns of Gayndah and Mundubbera were expected to experience minor flooding on Sunday.

The rising Burnett River is also set to cause minor flooding in Bundaberg later on Sunday.

North Burnett Mayor Don Waugh played down the severity of the flooding, describing the damage caused as minimal.

Instead, he highlighted how the wild weather had been positive for the region.

Mr Waugh said the storm had dumped much needed rain on many rural properties and filled up farm dams.

"I was talking to a fellow in Monto today and he said a garden plant had fallen over on a footpath; he said that was the extent of the damage he'd seen," the mayor said.

"Actually the Burnett (River) is a beautiful thing to see just now, the whole thing full of water, it looks really great."
