What we know about the impact of the magnitude 5.7 earthquake in Christchurch on Valentine's Day.

VALENTINE'S DAY 5.7 QUAKE IN CHRISTCHURCH

* No serious injuries

* Council says no major damage to infrastructure

* Emergency services response scaled down

* Liquefaction in the city's east

* Substantial cliff collapse at Whitewash Head overlooking Taylors Mistake

* Cliff collapse at Godley Head and behind Wakefield Avenue but nothing reached the road

* Considerable material has also come off Peacocks Gallop

* Civil Defence response teams sent to New Brighton

* Bridle Path and Rapaki tracks above the city closed. Some rockfalls there will be inspected in detail on Monday

* Scarborough Road closed to all except residents

* The Lyttelton Road Tunnel remains open

* AMI Stadium closed until further notice and an engineer will be on site on Monday

* University of Canterbury cleared by engineers and open

* People encouraged to check on neighbours, friends and families, especially those aged, ill or alone

* Mothers and babies moved from Burwood Hospital in the city's east

* Checks on minor damage at Christchurch Hospital and number of patients presenting normal

* Aftershocks continue, biggest a 3.6
