What's on: Anzac Day events across the country

Almost 100 years after the Anzac landing at Gallipoli, Anzac Day has become one of the country's most important commemorative occasions. Check out services and ceremonies happening across the country and the world on April 25.

Australian Capital Territory

Canberra

4.30am – Pre-Dawn Service readings of letters and diaries (Australian War Memorial)

5.30am – Dawn Service (Australian War Memorial)

6.30am – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commemorative Ceremony (Mount Ainslie)

10.15am – Anzac Day National Ceremony (Australian War Memorial)

For the first time in 50 years, members of the Royal family will attend the Canberra Anzac Day service. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will plant a sapling at the Australian War Memorial on April 25.

Gallipoli, Turkey

Each year thousands of Australians flock to Gallipoli, the landing place of the Anzacs, on April 25. This year's service will be a dress rehearsal for the centenary commemoration in 2015, when 10,000 will attend the Gallipoli Dawn Service.
