White House visit for NBA's Spurs

The fashion pressure is on Patty Mills and Aron Baynes after Australian NFL tackle Jesse Williams showed up at the White House last year in a purple suit.

One of the perks of being the reigning NBA champions is the San Antonio Spurs get to drop into the White House for a ceremony.

Mills, Baynes and their Spurs team-mates will be VIP guests at the White House on Monday, a day before they play the Washington Wizards.

"It's a wonderful experience for a lot of these guys who maybe haven't travelled much in their life other than to NBA games," Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said.

"To be able to go to the White House and see the president and first lady and walk through, it's very exciting for all of us."

It'll be interesting to see if Mills and Baynes follow the fashion lead of Aussie NFL defensive tackle Jesse Williams.

Williams horrified the fashion police, but became an internet sensation, by wearing a loud, purple floral suit when his Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks dropped into the White House in May.

Visiting the president has become a regular event for Spurs veteran Tim Duncan and Popovich, who have teamed up to win five NBA championships since 1999.
