Excited visitors have finally seen two white lion cubs for the first time since their birth.
The duo were born three weeks ago but kept a secret from the public because other lions at the zoo had died at an early age in the past.
The pair entertained visitors in a specially designed enclosure, seperate from the other lions and their mother as lionesses often reject their young when in a caged environment.
The animals will join their brothers and sisters in the bigger enclosure in a few months and will later be exchanged for animals at other zoos in Europe.
''Belgrade zoo co-operates with many other zoos in Europe. We already have a list of zoos who want them (the cubs)," Zoo volunteer, Nadja Radovi said.
"We will try to make a deal so that we can get some other animals. In the past we gave a few away as gifts. For example, one went to Havana zoo in Cuba. Thanks to them, we have good relationships with zoos across the globe.''
White lions are usually only found in South Africa and it's estimated that there are around 3,000 in the country.
The unusual colour is caused by a recessive gene.
