KEVIN ROBERTS
Has essentially been working as James Sutherland's understudy for over a year, most notably as the lead negotiator in last year's pay dispute. Already the most powerful member of CA's executive, while he is also a former board member of the sporting organisation.

TODD GREENBERG
A cricket tragic who once described having lunch with Don Bradman as "the greatest experience" of his life outside being a father and getting married. Knows the challenges of professional sport and is a former first-grade batsman, like CA's chairman David Peever.
Current job: NRL chief executive
BELINDA CLARK
Formerly the boss of CA's Centre of Excellence, the elite training facility in Brisbane that is the cornerstone of the sport's development program. The former captain, who was the second woman to be inducted into the ICC's Hall of Fame, is now part of CA's executive and the ICC's influential cricket committee.
Current job: Executive general manager of community cricket, CA
ANDREW JONES
Cricket Australia's former head of strategy, who now occupies what is arguably the sport's most powerful Sydney-based position. Not lacking in business acumen and passion, having been rebuked by CA for using Twitter to criticise umpires during a domestic one-day game last summer.
Current job: Cricket NSW chief executive
CHRISTINA MATTHEWS
The former keeper formed a successful partnership with Justin Langer, having appointed him coach of Western Australia and the Scorchers in 2012. Along with Jones, she looms as the most likely of the state bosses to be in the mix.
Current job: WACA chief executive
PAUL MARSH
A left-field option the board might not approve of, given his criticism of CA during last year's pay dispute. However, the son of legendary keeper Rod is respected by Sutherland and other key figures in cricketing circles. Knows the sport's challenges well, having served as chief executive of the Australian Cricketers' Association.
