Widdop, Creagh to co-captain NRL Dragons

St George Illawarra have announced Ben Creagh and Gareth Widdop as co-captains for the 2016 NRL season.

Ben Creagh and Gareth Widdop have been named St George Illawarra's co-captains for the 2016 NRL season.

With Creagh, 30, being regularly interchanged, Dragons coach Paul McGregor said Widdop would lead the team on game day.

Creagh is just seven games away from overtaking the Dragons' all-time appearance record of 273 held by former skipper Ben Hornby, while England international Widdop has played 118 NRL games, including 48 with the Dragons.
