Pieter Weening of the Netherlands has completed victory in cycling's Tour of Poland as British star Bradley Wiggins found form with a final stage time trial win.
Wiggins, last year's winner of the Tour de France, finished won the 37km time-trial from Wieliczka to Krakow in 46min 36sec, a full 56sec ahead of his closest challenger, Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland.
Weening finished with a time of 31hr 58min 7sec, to head Spanish rider Jon Izaguirre by 13 sec in the overall standings.
Team Sky sports director Dan Hunt hailed Wiggins's victory which comes just a month out from the world championships in Florence where Wiggins will be going for the time trial.
"It was a fantastic performance," said Hunt.
"He made a massive statement today and he has done really well.
"It was a real lesson in how to time trial. We went out this morning and researched the course and it was obvious that it suited Brad.
"The climbs suited him, the descents suited him and then it was a flying, rolling run-in into Krakow. He absolutely smashed it."
