Independent MP Andrew Wilkie has requested a charter flight he took during a Qantas strike be taken off his travel expenses record.

Independent MP Andrew Wilkie has requested a charter flight he took to Canberra be taken off his travel expenses record.

The Hobart-based federal member says it should not be on his record because it was a government-organised private flight during a Qantas strike and also ferried other parliamentarians.

Wilkie, who has been critical of fellow members' use of parliamentary entitlements, welcomed scrutiny of his travel expenses.
