Willie Mason's brother faces drug charges

The brother of rugby league player Willie Mason has fronted court on drug charges following a raid on his Newcastle home.

The brother of Manly Sea Eagles forward Willie Mason is facing charges after police allegedly found a stash of drugs and cash at his home in Newcastle.

The unit of 37-year-old former boxer Les Mason was raided late on Friday afternoon.

NSW police allege they seized cannabis, cocaine, amphetamines, cash, a motorcycle and other items during the raid on a Darby St unit.

Mason was charged with possessing a prohibited drug, supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

Police allegedly found 65 grams of cocaine, worth almost $20,000, the Nine Network reported.

Newcastle police confirmed Mason faced Newcastle Local Court on Saturday and was granted bail.

Nine also reports Mason's lawyer, Andrew Bright, told the court his client is unemployed after he sold a property in Sydney and made a profit of more than a million dollars.
