Laura Robson's mauling at the hands of Australian youngster Daria Gavrilova hasn't stopped the former British No.1 from receiving a Wimbledon wildcard.

The All England Club extended an invitation to Robson, a former Wimbledon junior champion, just 24 hours after her return from a 17-month injury lay-off ended in a miserable 6-0 6-1 qualifying loss to Gavrilova at Eastbourne.

Robson was back on court for the first time since last year's Australian Open following a serious wrist injury.

But her comeback was off to the worst possible start as she was on and off court in less than an hour, the humbling defeat leaving the 21-year-old one-time world No.27 on tenterhooks.

Robson admitted she hadn't heard from officials in the aftermath of her loss on England's south coast but they didn't leave her fretting for long.

The Melbourne-born star reached the fourth round on her last appearance at the All England Club in 2013.

Wimbledon gets underway on June 29.
