Parramatta may be destined for a second successive NRL wooden spoon but coach Ricky Stuart insists his side's win over the Wests Tigers makes them a dangerous prospect for Brisbane on Friday.
The Eels ended a run of 10 successive defeats with a last-gasp 26-22 victory over the Tigers last week and despite all the negativity around the club Stuart said spirits remain high.
"For the difficulties and the tough season we've had I really give the players credit for the way they've handled the difficult circumstances and I put it down to the their team spirit and morale," he said.
"You have tough weeks, but you also get those when you are winning.
"There have been times where it has been tough to get them up. This week has been good and we head to Brisbane in good shape and confident we can get a result."
The Broncos are still a mathematical chance of reaching the finals but that will almost certainly be extinguished should they lose at Suncorp Stadium.
Stuart's side won the last encounter in round nine and the Eels shocked Anthony Griffin's men 44-22 when the teams went head to head in Brisbane last year.
Jarryd Hayne's return was a huge boost for the Eels last weekend Stuart confirmed the NSW star would remain at five-eighth for the remainder of the year.
However, he won't stay there beyond this year with Corey Norman to be the first-choice once he leaves the Broncos, where he is currently out of favour, and joins the Eels.
Skipper Tim Mannah revealed there was an enormous sense of relief around the club after last week's win, which has them feeling they now have nothing to fear by the trip north.
"It has been a tough trot, the losses kept piling up and it definitely had an affect on the boys," Mannah said.
"But we've had a great week and the mindset is a lot different after a win and we are really looking forward to playing.
"We had a win against them this year, but to be honest it doesn't matter who we are playing, we've really enjoyed each other's company this week and that has been the best part.
"We're a young team and some of the boys have really had to get to learn the hard way this year and now know the difference between winning and losing."
