Windies name squad for Aussie Tests

The West Indies have added two players to their final squad for the coming Test series against Australia.

Two cricketers who impressed against Australian during a drawn tour match in Antigua have been called up to the West Indies squad for the coming Test series.

Opening batsman Rajindra Chandrika and wicketkeeper-batsman Shane Dowrich joined a final 14-man squad for the two-Test series, named by Windies selectors on Saturday.

Chandrika made a first-innings half-century in the three-day match between Australia and WICB President's XI.

The 32-year-old, yet to play an international match in any form of the game, was dismissed for a first-ball duck by Josh Hazlewood in the second innings.

Dowrich was also impressive, the 23-year-old from Barbados top-scoring with 78 in the hosts' first innings of 382 before making an unbeaten 53 in the second dig.

Both players travelled from Antigua to Dominica on Saturday to join the 12 other members of the squad.

The 12 were named last week for a week-long training camp in Barbados in preparation for the first Test starting at Windsor Park in Roseau on Wednesday.

The squad doesn't include veteran batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who was controversially omitted after poor recent form.

The Windies players are expect to train at Windsor Park on Sunday.

Windies squad: Devendra Bishoo, Jermaine Blackwood, Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Rajindra Chandrika, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Veerasammy Permaul, Denesh Ramdin (capt), Kemar Roach, Marlon Samuels, Jerome Taylor.
