The men were cleaning the windows on the 91st floor of the Shanghai World Financial Centre when strong winds turned the experience into a terrifying theme park ride.

In the video, the cleaning carriage appears to unhinge and is tossed violently from left to right, even smashing into the glass windows at one point.

The life-threatening ordeal lasted around 15 minutes before they were rescued and treated in hospital fo minor injuries.

The Shanghai World Financial Centre is 492 metres high and has 101 floors, making it one of the tallest buildings in the world. The exact cause of the incident is still being investigated.
