Windsor mulls return to federal politics

Tony Windsor is considering making another tilt at the federal seat the independent MP gave up in 2013.

Former independent MP Tony Windsor is considering a comeback to federal politics because he's appalled at the way the country is being run.

Mr Windsor retired at the 2013 election and his NSW regional seat of New England was won by deputy Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce.

But the political veteran is now thinking about running in the next federal election, telling Sky News on Friday he's "disgusted with some of the things that are happening to our country ... (and) the inconsistencies in terms of policy".
