Wolf Creek serial killer a softie at heart

John Jarratt explains why, for him, Valentine's Day isn't necessary. But one day it might be for his Wolf Creek alter ego Mick Taylor.

He might play a sadistic serial killer in the Wolf Creek movies, but John Jarratt is a softie at heart.

So much so, Valentine's Day isn't necessary.

"I'm not into it," Jarratt says while promoting Wolf Creek 2 in Sydney.

"I love my girl every second of every day, so I don't need Valentine's Day."

Jarratt, who has been married three times, reunited with first wife Rosa in 2012.

Co-star Ryan Corr says it's a little known fact that the man who plays Mick Taylor is a hopeless romantic.

"It's really quite something to admire," he says, nodding at Jarratt.

"You'd never admit that, while you're doing Wolf Creek, but Rosa is the absolute apple of his eye."

But would the psychopathic Mick Taylor ever have a chance at being struck by cupid's arrow?

Corr laughs: "Can you imagine what she would look like? Three teeth..."

Jarratt adds that there are people really hoping Mick finds a sweet fellow psychopath to share the rest of their lives - and end others - with.

"Heath Harris who did the horse work on Wolf Creek 2, he's really pushing to get Michelle. Mick and Michelle," Jarratt says.

"He reckons it would be great if Mick had a girlfriend. This toothless ex-truckie."

A match made in hell.
