Sydney FC will host the A-League's first match in Wollongong in January.

The Sky Blues will play their round-15 fixture against Newcastle Jets at WIN Stadium, while their home ground Allianz Stadium gets a new pitch.

"This is a first for Sydney FC, a first for the A-League and a first for Wollongong," chief executive Tony Pignata said in a statement on Thursday.

Graham Arnold's men will get their first taste of the ground on September 19, when they face rivals Wellington Phoenix in a pre-season friendly.

WIN Stadium will also host a six-day training camp for the A-League All Stars ahead of their clash with Italian Serie A champions Juventus on August 10.

The team, coached by Adelaide United's Josep Gombau and captained by Alessandro del Piero, are scheduled to play a number of practice games in the Illawarra, including against FFA Cup qualifiers South Coast Wolves and the Young Socceroos.
