Woman charged over boiling water attack

A woman working at an inner Sydney university campus is in hospital with eye damage and facial burns after boiling water was allegedly thrown at her.

A woman has suffered burns to her face and damage to her eye after a cup of boiling water was thrown at her at a university campus in Sydney.

Police say an argument broke out between staff members at the inner city campus on Harris Street in Ultimo on Wednesday afternoon.

It is alleged a woman threw a cup of boiling water at another woman during the incident.

A 26-year-old woman is being treated for burns to her face and damage to one of her eyes in Sydney Eye Hospital.

A 53-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and was granted bail to appear at Downing Centre local Court on November 12, police said.
