Woman charged over Qld man's murder

A 32-year-old woman will appear in court charged with the murder of a far north Queensland man whose body was found near Cairns.

A far north Queensland woman has been charged with murdering a man near Cairns.

The body of a 40-year-old man was found by police at the remote indigenous community of Mona Mona, north of Cairns, on Thursday night.

Detectives spent Friday morning carrying out forensic tests and interviews at the community before charging a 32-year-old woman with murder.

She will appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court later on Friday.
