A woman has died after being trapped by a truck on a suburban Sydney driveway.

Police were called to a house in Wahroonga, in Sydney's upper north shore, about 5pm on Wednesday following reports a truck had rolled down a driveway and tipped over, trapping a woman.

Police said the woman died at the scene and a young boy, who was with her at the time of the incident, suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the truck was not in the vehicle when it rolled down the driveway and is assisting police with their inquiries.

The boy has been taken to hospital.
