A woman has died and another has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after a light plane crashed south of Sydney.

A woman has died in a light plane crash south of Sydney.

Two women were onboard the light plane when it crashed in bushland off Lysaght Road at Wedderburn, near Campbelltown, just before 5pm on Sunday.

The injured woman has been airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition, police say.
