The six children of a Sydney woman who was allegedly drunk behind the wheel as she did the school run are being cared for by a relative.
The 33-year-old mother was charged with high-range drink-driving after a random breath test in Cranebrook on Wednesday afternoon while driving with four children in her car.
The mother was found to be more than four times the legal limit after returning a reading of .212, police say.
Officers took care of the four children, aged between six and 10, who were in woman's car before returning to her home and removing two more children, aged two and four, who were home alone.
The Department of Family and Community Services have been notified of the incident.
