Woman faces hearing over SA shooting

A 33-year-old woman has faced a bedside hearing on attempted murder charges after an Adelaide home was peppered with gun shots.

A woman has faced a bedside hearing charged with attempted murder after multiple gun shots were fired into an Adelaide home.

The 33-year-old Glenside woman, whose cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested at her home in the early hours of Wednesday morning after allegedly firing up to 20 shots into a Plympton house.

Three adults were inside the house at the time and one suffered a graze from shrapnel.

Brevet Sergeant Frank Jakacic told the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday that several bullets were embedded in a bed where a man and a woman were sleeping.

The woman, who was known to the occupants, was armed with a large machete when police went to her home shortly afterwards, he said.

She was arrested and taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital for psychiatric assessment.

The woman was charged with aggravated endangering life, aggravated assault causing harm against police and two counts of attempted murder.

Police later alleged;y found a firearm case at the woman's home, as well as ammunition of a similar calibre to casings collected from the scene of the shooting.

The court was told the woman was too distressed to appear via a telephone link.

Defence lawyer Danni Stephens did not apply for bail.

Magistrate Elizabeth Sheppard issued a number of suppression orders in relation to the case and remanded the woman to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on November 11.
