Woman found under Vic house now stable

A woman who was found trapped under a derelict Melbourne house on Saturday remains in hospital in a stable condition after reportedly suffering from exposure.

A woman trapped under a derelict house in Melbourne's north for up to four days remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Neighbours reported hearing noises coming from beneath the Essendon house on Saturday night and alerted the owner.

It is believed the woman could have been there for up to four days. The MFB had to cut a hole in the kitchen floor to free her.

The woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, was on Monday in a stable condition at the Royal Melbourne Hospital after reportedly suffering from exposure as a result of the cold.

Police are still investigating how she became trapped under the house.
