Woman hit, killed by train in Melbourne

A woman has died after being hit by a train at a level crossing near Eltham Station, resulting in a temporary suspension of outer Melbourne train services.

A woman died when she was hit by a train in outer Melbourne.

The woman was hit at a level crossing on Wattletree Rd, near Eltham Station, about 6am resulting in a temporary suspension of train services.

Busses replaced trains from Diamond Creek to Greensborough, on the Hurstbridge line, until about 8am and police are continuing to investigate the incident.
