A Gold Coast woman who was arrested at a Sydney brothel and charged with the murder of Brisbane rugby league referee Tony McGrath has been remanded in custody.
Susan Ellen Stewart, 45, of Helensvale, was extradited to Queensland on Monday after she was arrested at the establishment in Brookvale in Sydney's north.
Stewart was remanded in custody after briefly appearing before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
She faces charges of murder, attempted murder, arson, grievous bodily harm, stupefying to commit an indictable offence and entering a dwelling with intent at night.
A friend found Mr McGrath's body, with a single gunshot wound to the head, under his home in the suburb of Woolloongabba on May 21.
Mr McGrath had been appointed president of the Brisbane Rugby League Referees Association not long before his death.
Police say there had been an earlier failed attempt on Mr McGrath's life by arson in 2012.
Stewart's case has been adjourned until March 17.
A 43-year-old Coolangatta man, arrested last week, has also been charged with murder, armed robbery, attempted murder or alternatively grievous bodily harm and arson.
Police describe Mr McGrath as a "loner" who had no family apart from his sister, and say his lack of close relationships made it hard to track leads.
