A manhunt is underway around Sydney's Royal National Park for a man whose former partner was found murdered in her home.

Emergency services discovered the 51-year-old woman's body inside a home on Beachcomber Avenue at Bundeena at around 3.30pm on Sunday.

She is believed to have been bashed to death with a cricket bat.

A 17-year-old boy, believed to be the woman's son, was taken to St George hospital with an injured arm.

The woman has been named in media reports as Tina Kontozis.

Neighbours reportedly called police after hearing screams coming from the top floor of the Bundeena home.

Homicide detectives are at the scene while officers are also scouring the area for the woman's 51-year-old former partner.

He was last seen leaving the house in a silver Holden Commodore with the number plates BZ33ZO.

Bundeena is accessible by only one road, Bundeena Drive, through the Royal National Park.
