Woman on manslaughter charge over crash

An 18-year-old Queensland woman has been charged with the manslaughter of a 34-year-old man following a fatal crash on New Year's Day.

A woman has been charged with manslaughter and dangerous driving following a fatal New Year's Day crash in Queensland.

A 34-year-old man was killed when the car he was in collided with a car being driven by an 18-year-old woman at an intersection in Bundaberg on January 1.

Five others were taken to hospital, including a 37-year-old man who suffered serious injuries.

Police said on Friday the Gladstone woman had been charged with manslaughter and one count each of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving.

She was due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday.
