Woman threatened with sword in Wollongong

A man has used a sword to threaten a convenience store attendant in Wollongong.

A woman has been threatened with a sword during a robbery at a convenience store in Wollongong in NSW's Illawarra region.

Police say a man entered the store on Bourke Street in North Wollongoing at about 5.45pm on Saturday and threatened the female attendant with the sword before fleeing with cash.

The offender is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 20 to 30 years of age, 165-175cm tall and of a skinny build.

He was last seen wearing black track suit pants and a navy blue hooded jumper.
