Woman's body found in Melbourne house fire

Firefighters have been called to a Melbourne house fire where they have made a grim discovery after bringing the blaze under control.

A woman's body has been found in a Melbourne house fire.

Firefighters were called to the unit at Eaglemont, in Melbourne's northeast, about 5am.

The fire was brought under control quickly, before the body was discovered.

Neither the identity of the woman or the cause of the fire is known.
